Snow

“I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.”

~Louisa May Alcott, Little Women

It felt very surreal driving home in a snowstorm last night. Elsa had just finished dance class and we walked outside to a flurry of big, white flakes. It was magical. I remember as a kid loving a night snow and seeing Elsa’s reaction brought me so much joy.

The weather, culture and landscape of Halifax reminds us of Minnesota. Although we haven’t been able to skate on an open lake or sled in our backyard, we are looking forward to sharing pieces of our childhood with the kids.  Living on the third floor of a condo has hindered some of these experiences, but happily we purchased a home!

We move at the end of March and we are very excited. It’s a chance to put down roots and connect to our new community….oh, and we can open a door and release Soren and his four year old energy into a fenced backyard.

Until then, we are enjoying living in a place where we are right above some wonderful restaurants and shops, have access to a concierge and don’t have to shovel a driveway. Sophie and I seized the moment the other night and had a quiet dinner, just the two of us.

In other news, Elsa is settled and happy at dance.

Soren plays hockey in the house, in his underwear.

Little 🐝 🐝 Ellinor turned 3 months old. She loves attention, being a beeeeeeeg girl and smiling.

Lastly, sometimes the time difference can be tricky in terms of communication, but the kids love texting and FaceTiming so please keep it up! Presently, we have turned into night owls so I figure what’s the harm in staying up a little later…
